Our tree is decorated, the office is filled with cheer and Mitchell Dentistry is excited to celebrate the holiday season with our patients and our families! As many of you are already aware, we have chosen again this year to provide toys and gifts to the Dr. Piper Center. Each year on Christmas day, the Dr. Piper Center hosts a gift opening celebration for more than 300 children, ranging from newborn to 14 years of age, whom may not otherwise be able to celebrate Christmas. We are currently collecting toys in our office for this great cause! Please help us and the SWFL community by donating an unwrapped gift and dropping it by 32 Barkley Cir. in Fort Myers, Fla.
In addition to their holiday initiative, the Dr. Piper Center also has programs that benefit seniors looking for employment, aid seniors with handicaps and provide troubled youth with positive mentors. This non-profit organization was inspired by the efforts of Dr. Ella Piper who was instrumental in providing charitable services to the Fort Myers area during the 1900s. If you’d like more information or would consider volunteering your time, please visit www.drpipercenter.org.
We wish you all a wonderful season and a very Merry Christmas!
Each holiday season we select one charitable organization to focus our efforts of giving back to our local, Southwest Florida community and to benefit those in need. This year, we are proud to partner with the Dr. Piper Center to provide toys to children on Christmas Day at their annual party. We are collecting toys for boys and girls of all ages, at our office until the week before Christmas, when they will be picked up and taken to the Dr. Piper Center. The presents will then be gifted on Christmas Day to the children at the 97th annual Christmas gala.
The Dr. Piper Center is so named because of Dr. Ella Piper, the accomplished philanthropist and citizen of Fort Myers in the early 20th century. In 1915, Dr. Piper began hosting annual Christmas tree parties for children in Dunbar Heights and the event has taken place every year since then.
Today, the Dr. Piper Center has grown and enhances the social and economic well-being of Southwest Florida residents. The organization strives to make positive changes for the elderly, at risk youth, foster children and special needs children.
Please help us by donating to this wonderful organization this holiday season. Stop by our offices at 32 Barkley Circle, Fort Myers, Fla. and bring in a toy to leave under the tree.
We wish you all Happy Holidays and hope you have a wonderful New Year!
